OUR MISSION
As a community-based volunteer group, our purpose as the St. Albert Cultivates the Arts Society is to encourage the citizens of St. Albert (and the region) to discover, experience and celebrate the creative endeavours of local artists and performers during Alberta Culture Days, scheduled annually in September.
OUR ORIGINS
The formation of the St. Albert Cultivates the Arts Society (SACTAS) came through efforts of founding members and the Mayor in 2009, to meet the Council priority of establishing an Arts Day program. At that time, we received the mandate to produce an Arts Festival annually. In 2012 we were established as a not-for-profit society. SACTAS continues to explore artistic opportunities for celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our community.
